ANCIENT DRUMMER ARTIFACTS DISCOVERED

If you all recall, after the most recent Drummer race our recorded times went missing under my possession. There was some skepticism as to weather or not I was just upset that Jack had beaten me by 9 seconds on the upper single track BUT whilst parking/cleaning my car yesterday morning I made a very exciting discovery. The missing 2009 Drummer Race #1 results have been found. So here they are.....

Windham recap

Holy Mud Batman...but the massive amounts of running/standing water and mud on course, it was actually a cool race. 4 and half minutes on average for pro times and good pitch off the top with flow on the bottom resulted in a rather fun to ride course. Racing it was a different story, but all in all it was well put together after some mods were made post practice on sat. I finished mid pack (16/32+), doug got 5th, and a i am unsure as to where sam finished. All I know is that i am buying mud spikes and tear-offs before the next race. cheers.

Killington Opener

The weekend was awesome ripped runs with a lot of familiar faces at Killington. Winter was good to the trails not much has changed. Some sections are super bombed out but it just makes the riding better. Rumor has it that they are re opening the closed 30's eventually The GES race at Highland is in two weeks followed by GES Attitash. Hoping to make it to 1 of those before heading back to Plattekill for race#3 and then GES Sugarbush which are back to back weekends.

WORLD CUP AT WINDHAM, NY

Windham is not only good enough for the Gravity East Series, its good enough for the World Cup. Last time the WC came to America was 2005 at Angel Fire. Mark the date http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/2010-mountain-bike-world-cup-to-return-to-the-us

MT SNOW #2

MT SNow #1 was a awesome event ... I know, can't believe I just said.
Everyone is looking forward to ripping ski slope again along with some roots this weekend.
Oliver even asked me to bring a trainer so he must be for real. Hopefully the rain stays away.
I am looking to get on the box by going 5 seconds faster and not crashing out.

who does #2 work for?

Plattekill Race #2 Recap

Super Duper Weekend. The course was totally rad with lots of steeps, drops and corners. Plus it was freakin' fast! Practice on Saturday was the bomb-diggity. So much fun, even after the brief rain that passed through (read: hero drifts!) Sunday was slick from a night of rain, but still awesome. One of Platty's best courses I think... Results: Ollie won Cat 1 by 6 seconds which was really exciting and a long time coming. Congrats again! Jack came in 8th in Cat 1 even with an off in his race, so a solid recovery gave him a very respectable placing. I (Zach) came in 4th in Pro, my first good result of the year and Pro rankings, so I was really pumped. A great weekend all around!

Platty #2

Oliver and I are making the trip out. The course will be sick with sections from the May 07 race for those that remember those things. Zach is the edge and is Douglas. http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219345 Pics of the June course in above link.

US Nationals at Sol Vista

I have a friend who lives in Boulder, CO and I wanted to make plans to visit him this summer. Coincidentally US Nationals are about 2 hrs away from where he lives in Colorado. I'm seriously considering taking a trip out there in Mid-July for the race/visit. Let me know if this is tickling anybody's appetite, rolling out there with a Drummer posse would be the best way I could imagine it.

The plan

was not to do anthing this weekend and just ride trails in town and relax. That didn't happend as i got dragged into riding xc on saturday then went to the kingdom trails and did shuttles with the crew up there. So fast so much pedaling . Platty #2 is up for Sat and SUN. the course is already hyped up as epic so we will see. This week is ride some xc keep the dh bike fresh and rip pump track laps.

PUMP TRACK COMPLETE

So sick. So tight. It is truly dizzying. I will post pics and vids when i get my hands on such equipment. Dirt SHovels Carpets water and bikes = pump track. Even the chinook knew because the chain broke yesterday. Been posting 5.45 for best lap time to give you an idea how small this guy is. Working on a cross back and adding two smaller dj in the middle is also possible. It is easy to rip 5 laps before getting sloppy. that and getting out takes about 50 seconds.

Mt. Snow Follow Up

So it's Monday, June 1st, and the race finished up yesterday afternoon at around 1 pm. The rain held off for the most part, a few sprinkles here and there, but nothing course changing. On my end, I decided to replicate my fall from practice on Saturday, at the end of practice on Sunday, but into a giant mud puddle. Just as awful, but with more mud...read: mud in and on everything. Yuck. But, that aside the race itself was pretty good for eveyone. Ollie's chain gave up the ghost out of the start gate which was a huge bummer, as he was looking really solid all weekend. Jack gave Cat 1 a nice whipping with an 8th place finish (hopefully he'll drop another line and chime in) and a time of 3:47 and change. For my first debut USAC Pro race I managed 11th with a 3:49 and change. I was a lack luster run, but after two massive falls, I just wanted to get down in one piece. Doug had a great run as well, but I forgot his time, my apologies. Look out for Mr. DMD, as he is looking on point for 2009. Fun times.
